We’re trying really hard to get back on track with our fitness. This means doing at least 30 minutes of exercise most days each week. But sometimes it’s just not possible to get to the gym or out on the road together. The best alternative is to squeeze in a quick workout at home.
At the moment, I want a 30-minute home workout that elevates my heart rate, but also includes some strength and core work. Whenever I’m looking for a particular workout I turn to Popsugar. Their library of video workouts is amazing and I always find something to suit whatever my particular need is at the time. I also find the instruction of the trainers very clear and correct techniques explained pretty well. You know what to do and how to do it properly.
The Popsugar workout video I’m sharing with you today, is a great full-body workout that gets the heart rate racing. It incorporates strength circuits, a cardio blast and finishes off with some core work. I also like this particular workout because you don’t need any equipment at all.
ABOUT THE WORKOUT
Don’t be fooled. This is a pretty tough workout. After your 3-minute warm-up, you hit the strength circuit. You do 3 rounds of exercises where you do 40 seconds of exercise, with a 15-20 second rest. Once done, you take a little break and then hit “The (cardio) Blast” section of the workout. This is 1 round of 5 high intensity exercises performed for 30 seconds each, with no break in between. Finally, you head to the floor where you do about 10 minutes of Pilates floor core work before a nice stretch.
Another great feature of this workout is that they have someone doing modifications of the exercises. This allows you to take the intensity down a notch if you need to. Trust me, this is very useful!
Grab some water, a mat, and your laptop. Press play and get ready to sweat!
