NEW YEAR REBOOT BATH-TIME DETOX

Bath-time detox

We’ve ticked the new year healthy eating and alcohol detox boxes. Now we’re looking at taking our detox deeper – skin deep to be precise, with a bath-time detox. Since we started our Equilibrio journey last year, Mich and I have learned so much and are infinitely more aware of what we expose our bodies to on a daily basis. There are so many potentially toxic ingredients in so many products we use each day, from household cleaning to skincare, it can all become a bit overwhelming. However, we’re taking it on in bite sized chunks and every month, are exploring natural alternatives that are not only better for us, but are better for the environment as well.

As part of our New Year Reboot, we’re focused on our daily bathing ritual to get the most out of our health and wellness detox.

DETOX YOUR BATHROOM CLEANING

We need to start concerning ourselves with the products we use to clean our bathroom.  After all, there’s little use in adding detox salts to a bath that is full of toxic chemical remnants from your cleaning products. Or having a steamy shower while inhaling toxic chemicals used to clean the shower and tiles. We also need to be water-wise and cannot waste water repeatedly rinsing our bath or shower surfaces, trying to eliminate all traces of the toxic cleaning products we’re using. Here are some great, effective, locally produced, natural cleaning products that will leave your bathroom grime-free and smelling clean.

EXFOLIATE AND STIMULATE

Now that we know our bathroom is a cleaner, less toxic environment, we can focus on continuing our wellness detox routine. We want to stimulate, exfoliate and assist the body in its bid to expel unwanted toxins while improving skin tone. Here is a small selection of products we use to help stimulate circulation while exfoliating dead skin cells, priming the skin and body for the deep soak and relaxation stage of your detox ritual.
