It’s been an exciting time for Levi’s in SA. Not only has it relaunched the new Levi’s Sandton City store, but it also showcased a Made & Crafted® premium collection for the first time in South Africa.
The Levi’s brand has just re-opened a new-look store in Sandton City Shopping Centre. The fresh Levi’s Sandton City store will remain in the same location and will house an impressive array of the latest fashion trends and the very best in denim apparel.
The store itself offers fans a more ‘shoppable’ and easy to navigate space as well as elevated design details such as raw wood and sleek industrial finishes, intended to create an inviting and relaxed vibe. The store has a pared-back, natural look and is a light fresh space that pays homage to Levi’s® commitment to quality, craftsmanship and heritage.
We also love the “personalizing area” where you can have your Levi’s® items altered, have patches or badges added or even your named embroidered on.
Levi’s Sandton City will carry a wide range of items including the highly anticipated Levi’s Made & Crafted® collection for the first time in South Africa. Levi’s Sandton City is one of five stores in the country to stock the premium collection- the Russian Rodeo Spring/Summer 2019 Collection.
Russian Rodeo combines the beauty and opulence of Russian architecture and clothing with the tradition and heritage of the American West. The result is a lineup full of intricate embroidery, fringe detailing, and eye-catching Old West-style patterns. There is also a mix of Soviet-era styling, including 1990s colour-blocking. There’s fringe detail, cowboy boot stitching and classic Western pieces like Trucker jackets and jeans, with street style-inspired shrunken or oversized silhouettes.
With craftsmanship in Levi’s DNA, artful construction techniques are used to make each garment, and the fabrics are sourced from the best mills around the world.
The Levi’s Made & Crafted® Collection is available from 16th August in Canal Walk, Cavendish, Menlyn, Sandton and V&A Waterfront (re-opening in September).
JILL & MICHELLE’S FAVOURITE LEVI’S ITEMS
A store launch wouldn’t be the same without a G&T in hand and a little shopping. Here’s what Equilibrio picked up at the new Levi’s Sandton City store.
Jill just loved the unusual and so versatile Levi’s kimono-style Annice jacket, I got the trending high-rise, straight-leg Levi’s Dad jeans. And we both swooned over the quirky Stranger Things x Levi’s collection. We’re both fans of the 80’s inspired sci-fi show. These are all available at the new Levi’s Sandton City store.
The denim industry is renowned for its pollution so we were delighted to see the amount of effort that Levi’s is putting into becoming more sustainable.
– They have saved over 3 billion litres of water
– Have recycled over 2 billion litres of water
– By 2020 they aim to discharge zero hazardous chemicals during production
– By 2020 they aim to use 95% better cotton plus a mix of recycled and organic cotton.
