A short while ago I went away for the weekend and while unpacking realised that I had forgotten my makeup bag. Oops! It was the kind of weekend where I could happily walk around without makeup, so I wasn’t too stressed. But then we decided to go out for dinner…
I needed a little cover and colour, so I scratched around in my handbag and all I found were these three items: Compact powder, pink lipstick and eyeliner. Here’s how I did a full face of makeup with only three items.
For foundation I dampened the sponge of my compact powder and swirled it on the surface of the powder. I then pressed the damp powder onto my skin.
The damp powder will provide more coverage than dry powder. Take care to smear as this will leave streaks.
I even “made” concealer by wetting my index finger, rubbing it in the power, making a light paste and patting under my eyes and wherever I needed more coverage.
I’d forgotten my blush but needed a little colour on my cheeks. So, I applied some pink lipstick to the apples of my cheeks and gently patted the colour outwards towards my ears. Voila, blush!
It’s amazing how eyebrows can define your face. I used the dark brown eyeliner that I had found in my handbag and made very light, short strokes over the brows to darken and define them. I then took a tissue and patted over them to make sure they’re not too dark.
For my eyes I put a little lipstick on my index finger and patted it onto my lower lid and blended upwards. I then dusted a little powder over the lipstick to help it stay put.
I had eyeliner but no mascara. So instead of making a solid line over the upper and lower lash lines, I decided to rather make small dots of liner between the lashes. I then smeared the liner to create a slightly smoky look and also darken the base of the lashes. When the base of the lashes is dark, it helps make your eyes look more defined.
Then I added some lipstick (to my lips this time) and confidently when out to dinner!
