In a rush every morning or not in the mood for eggs? We’ve come up with some fast, healthy and really yummy smoothies to get you going.
This is a get-up-and-go smoothie! The fruit and honey provide energy and antioxidants. The chia seeds are high in omega acids and are a great source of fiber, iron and calcium. Optional: drop the honey and yoghurt and add a scoop of protein powder and a little water.
Ingredients:
½ cup of blueberries
½ a mango
½ a banana
2 TBSP of chia seeds
1 TBSP of honey
2 TBSP of plain yoghurt
4 Ice cubes
Get your daily dose of veggies with this anti-inflammatory, immune boosting smoothie. Great to keep the sniffles away during winter. In addition to the immune benefits, the beta carotene in carrots also aids good vision. Celery provides electrolytes and helps reduce bloating.
Ingredients:
½ an avocado
¼ cucumber
1 carrot
1 TBSP of grated ginger
1 stick celery
¼ tsp turmeric
1 cup almond milk
4 Ice cubes
This smoothie is a great allrounder. The spinach is high in vitamin B6 and Zinc which both help fight off disease. The melon is high in Vitamin C and potassium as well as copper which is good for skin cell regeneration. Matcha is an excellent antioxidant which is known to boost the metabolism and enhance your mood.
Ingredients:
1½ cups of melon
Handful of mint
2 cups of spinach
½ a mango
¼ cucumber
2 tsp of matcha powder
1 cup of almond milk
2 TBSP honey
3 Ice cubes
Your skin will glow after this anti-oxidant rich smoothie. Blueberries contain fiber, potassium, vitamin C and B6. Vitamin B6 is know to prevent the build-up of homocysteine levels in the blood which can lead to heart problems. Vitamin C helps promote collagen’s ability to smooth the skin. Optional: add ¼ cup of oats, a good source of low GI energy.

½ a cup of cooled strong green tea
2 TBSP honey
1½ cups of blueberries
½ banana
½ cup plain yoghurt or almond milk
3 Ice cubes
