I love a do-it-all dress. A dress you can wear casually with sneakers or dressed up with heels. A dress you can wear any season. A true representation of sustainable, slow fashion. Check out our little pink dress outfit of the day.
It’s 30 March 2020, and South Africa is in the midst of a three-week lockdown to curb the spread of COVID-19. Most of us are at home in track pants or leggings, but that doesn’t stop us from getting ready for life after lockdown.
The Tam Dress is a fabulous, locally made dress made from a stretchy fabric and available in 4 colours: blush, black, mustard and green. We’ve paired the dress with white sneakers and a silk scarf that can be tied around the neck or to a handbag. A delicate necklace and earrings add the finishing touch.
PINK & SKIN TONE
Pink is a very current colour that is here to stay. The trick with pink is that there are so many different shades, and you need to find the right shade to go with your skin tone. This dress by Cape Town designers Mareth | Colleen is a beautiful soft dusty pink I absolutely love it but it’s going to be a tricky colour with my skin tone which is very fair. I generally look better in slightly brighter pinks. Darker skin tones and olive skin tone will look beautiful in this colour.
FIT & FABRIC
The Tam Dress really is a stunning little dress. It is fitted at the top, with a wide skirt. This dress will look particularly nice on women who have curves, so someone who has an hourglass figure or a pear figure. It’s made from a stretchy fabric called Scuba that it is comfortable and soft and kind of warm so it’s nice for transitioning into autumn and in the winter months.
MAKE-UP AND THIS LOOK
This is a casual look and we think it will look best with natural make-up. A massive trend this year is pink or coral eyeshadow. This eye looks great with lots of mascara, a dusty pink lipstick and pink blush, perfect with our pink dress outfit of the day!
