Review – Zelens Advanced eye cream and Vitamin C drops

The first product review I did for Equilibrio was for a ZELENS product, the amazing PHA+ Bio Peel Resurfacing Facial Pads. By way of a quick recap, ZELENS is a UK brand founded by Dr. Marko Lens, a plastic surgeon and expert in the field of skin cancer and skin ageing. The range is cruelty-free, uses no parabens and has products that are easy to use. They are appropriate for an aging skin and an ever increasing toxic environment.

Today I’m reviewing another two ZELENS products I believe should be on every woman’s skincare wishlist.

I love the texture of the TRIPLE-ACTION ADVANCED EYE CREAM – it’s more silky than creamy and is absorbed in a snap.

I’ve tried a number of “luxury” eye creams but this is THE eye cream to use if you’re trying to tackle fine lines, dark circles and puffiness. The cream has a moisturising hyaluronic base which helps to plump the delicate eye area. Haloxyl to help reduce dark circles, and peptides to reduce swelling and water-retention. The recipe also includes amino acids which act like a “natural, non-toxic” botox which help reduce the formation of fine lines!

It’s not cheap but I have no doubt it’s totally worth the investment! There is a visible reduction in the fine lines around the corners of my eyes and if the area is tired and puffy, this brightens and tightens.

This cream is serious about looking after the skin around the eye area. If you want to purchase one product that will make a big difference to tired or ageing skin, I would recommend this.

P.S. This is also great for wearing under makeup.

P.P.S. I thought I’d check out some other reviews and see that this little gem unsurprisingly makes best sellers lists world-wide.

The Zelens POWER C HIGH POTENCY VITAMN C Treatment Drops promise to hydrate skin, brighten the complexion and help fight the appearance of premature wrinkles and dark spots.

I agree, this is a super hydrating treatment and a perfect winter serum for me. It has definitely improved the texture of my cold-weather skin. I’m also convinced it “plumps” fine lines, and is helping to keep dark spots at bay.

I put it on in the mornings with my TRIPLE-ACTION ADVANCED EYE CREAM for the perfect moisturising, free-radical fighting, skin-care base. Like the eye cream, this is great under make-up. It’s also pricey, but you only need a couple of drops a day, so it lasts. After 2 months, I have just under half a bottle left.

Interesting fact. I’ve recently learnt that Vitamin C is particularly unstable and, when exposed to light, it loses its efficacy. This means it should always be in opaque packaging so see-through bottles and packaging are a big “no-no”. The test? When your Vitamin C serum turns brown, it’s a sign your serum is no longer going to be effective and you should chuck it out.

The ZELENS Vitamin C serum however, is made from a derivative which is more stable so the use of see-through packaging is not an issue. I can attest to this. As mentioned, I’ve had my serum for a while and there’s no hint of discoloration.
